NIC

network interface card
A network interface card expands the capabilities of a computer to be able to connect physically to a network. Commonly NICs have an RJ-45 jack allowing the computer to connect to an Ethernet local network. Most NICs are designed to plug into a PCI slot on the computer's motherboard.
NTFS
Also known as:
NT File System
The NT File System is was developed by Microsoft for Windows NT. It is still used for Windows 2000, XP and more. A file system is a format for how to store data on a hard disk. The file system determines how to index files and folders and how to store files of varying sizes. NTFS is the successor to the older FAT (File Allocation Tables) file system. NTFS has improved security, compression and encryption abilities.
