Ethernet
Also known as:
Ethernet is a computer networking technology which was originally designed by Xerox in th 1970s. It is currently the most commonly used networking standard for local area networks. With Ethernet, all computers on a network share the same transmission cable. An important part of the design of Ethernet is how it handles the inevitable collisions when two or more computers try to output to the cable at the same time.
